Sometimes sheet foam can be best. We stock sheet foam in a thickness of 1mm, 1.5mm, 2mm, 3mm, and 4mm.

Likewise, clean the old residue from the door channels, and very carefully the mirror cushion area. Certainly, you will want to remove the old door hinge and clean anywhere else you are replacing the seals.
The finest adhesive in the world will not adhere to that sticky, gooey residue that was once a quality light seal. Lastly, a careful install will give you thousands of light tight exposures.
