The most important task is cleaning off the old seals. Focus on clean, clean, clean.
Likewise, remove the old foam from the door channels, and very, very carefully the mirror cushion area.
Also, remove the old door hinge and clean anywhere else you are replacing the seals.
Lastly, The most important work you have to do is to remove the old seals. Focus on clean, clean, clean. Make sure to remove all traces of the old door channel seals, mirror cushion, door hinge, and anywhere else you are replacing old seals. The finest adhesive in the world will not adhere to that sticky goo that was once a light seal. Finally, a proper install will give you thousands of light tight exposures.
