Basic Installation Guidelines
You are installing a 7 piece kit for the Fujica ST 701 ST 801 ST 901
Tech note. Unusual for many 35mm film cameras, this model Fujica uses lower and upper channel seals on the back cover. It is wrong to assume the door channels on the camera body need foam also. They do not.
Take all of the seals for this Fujica kit and lay them out on your work area.
Lower channel seal, back cover – 1 x 1mm
Upper channel seal, back cover – 1 x 1mm
Upper latch plate seal, camera body, latch end – 1 x 1mm
Lower latch plate seal, camera body, latch end – 1 x 1mm
Back cover latch plate seal – 1 x 2mm
Hinge seal, back cover – 1 x 1mm
Mirror cushion – 1 x 2mm
Also, I recommend beginners start with the shorter pieces first.
Door channel seals, back cover. Install the 1mm top / bottom channel seals on the back cover, starting on the right, at the latch end working left towards the hinge side.
Door channel seal, camera body. Start the install of the short 29mm long light seal on the lower channel just left of the cut-out in the body casting for the film spool of the film cassette, and work to the right.
Latch Plate seal, back cover. Install this seal on the back cover, just below the latch, centering the seal between the upper and lower channels in the back cover.
Hinge seal, camera body. Install this seal on the back cover, hinge side, centering the seal between the upper and lower channels in the back cover.
Mirror cushion. Now, with the utmost care, remove the old and install the new mirror cushion. Remember if any thing touches the focusing screen, it will likely be permanently damaged.
