USCamera Light Seal Placement Information – Olympus OM-G OM-PC Custom Light Seal
Before you do anything, please read general instructions on installing light seals here.
Next, take all of the seals out of the kit and lay them out on your work area. This kit includes,
2 x 1mm – back cover channel seals, camera body
1 x 2mm – back cover latch seal, back cover
1 x 1mm – hinge seal, camera body
1 x 1mm – mirror cushion, front
2 x 1mm – mirror cushion, side
Tech Note. For the OMPC model only, the reminder window seal is not included with this kit. We been unable to find a source for that seal.
Hinge Seal, camera body. Install this seal centering it between the top and bottom door channels.
Latch plate seal, back cover. Notice a inside lip on the door latch plate just to the right of the film cassette spring. Install by centering this seal on that lip. Some overhang of the seal on each end is ok.
Door channel seals, camera body. Install the upper and lower camera body channel seals starting at the hinge side on the camera body, working from right to left. The upper channel has the counter actuation lever. You will need to install this seal as close to each side of the counter lever opening as possible.
Tech Note. The mirror cushion on these model Olympus cameras, as this writing are not sticky like many other cameras. We did find that if they had to be removed for any reason, many times this seal would come off in pieces.
Mirror cushion. Replace the front cushion first and then the side cushions. Remember if any thing touches the focusing screen, it will likely be permanently damaged.
