Sometimes sheet foam is the best solution. We have foam material in a thickness of 1mm, 1.5mm, 2mm, 3mm, and 4mm available here. In addition, we have many different strips of light seal material already cut to width and 220 mm long here.
USCamera light seal kit placement guides can really help you also. Especially if the old light seals have already been removed before you acquired the camera. go here

First of all and the most important and time-consuming-work is removing the old seals. Focus on clean, clean, clean. Clean the old residue from the door channels, mirror cushion area, door hinge area and anywhere else you are replacing the seals. The finest adhesive in the world will not adhere to that sticky, gooey residue that was once a quality light seal. Proper installation will give you thousands of light tight exposures.

kudos to you guys for doing such a wonderful job,
I saw someone from your company mention that some people use yarn in place of seals for these Mamiya roll film backs
my background is in hydraulics and I’ve been wondering if it wouldn’t be practical to use an O-ring of the correct durometer and that should fit in just beautifully and stay put… no temperature rise or abrasion considerations would make it even better.
What do you think of that?
A wool type blend was used in some early cameras. It is a glue down material and is not as clean of an install as foam. The camera engineers have used foam since the ‘60s. Unfortunately, the Mamiya backs are designed to compress at most 2mm foam for a light tight seal. I do not how you would keep an 1-2mm “O” ring in place on that back. Also, any resistance when closing the back may spring it or stress the hinge over time.
